David Hartmann

David Hartmann started studying a Diploma of Applied Science (Chinese Medicine) almost straight out of secondary school and graduated from the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Brisbane in 1997 at the age of just 23. He then set-up his own acupuncture clinic and has been treating patients regularly since then.

David did become a well known lecturer at the Endeavour College of Natural Health in Brisbane Australia, where he teaches subjects in the Bachelor of Chinese Medicine course. In 2000, David started lecturing at the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences and has been teaching at various colleges ever since. Currently, he is Module Leader for the Chinese Classics subject, which is part of the online Masters in Advanced Oriental Medicine (Research and Practice) program at the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) in York, England.

In 2009, David published his 2nd edition of the Acupoint Dictionary with Elsevier Churchill Livingstone. In that year he also completed his Masters of Acupuncture with his Project Thesis titled How did Ancient Confucianism view Virtue? Can it be incorporated into a Modern Western World? After doing lots of research, he wrote a second Chinese medicine text titled The Principles and Practical Application of Acupuncture Point Combinations which was published by Singing Dragon in 2019. David currently has a PhD pending.

Over the last ten years, David has presented at multiple conferences in the USA, Germany, England, Poland, Australia and New Zealand as well as stand-alone seminars in the USA, The Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, England, Australia and New Zealand. He has a wealth of knowledge in the field of Chinese medicine and is forever researching and continuing his learning in the craft. He also has a special interest in Western, Eastern, Ancient and Modern philosophy.

During 2020 and 2021, David has dedicated a lot of his time building his online profile. He now has a website (davidhartmanntcm.com) and has his courses/workshops available at nearly a dozen different international companies.
