Stems & Branches
CompletedIn the first three days we will start exploring the Four Emanations of Qian (Heaven) which are the basis for the WuXing, the Five Moving Forces (also called the five elements). Qian is the first Hexagram of the Yi Jing. Therefore we are going to have a brief look into the Yi Jing as well, as it is one of the related philosophical concepts behind Chinese Medicine.
In the second three days we will look at the Great Movements and in detail at the corresponding Ten Heavenly Stems (tian gan) and their relationship to each other (like and unlike Qi) to gain understanding how they define us.
After having explored the Heavenly part we will look into the Earthly part in the last three days and explore the twelve Earthly Branches (di zhi) and their relationship to the seasonal qi that takes place in the macrocosmos and therefore also in the microcosmos. In this context we will have another look at the Yi Jing by exploring the twelve tidal Hexagrams.
