Sybill Huessen is no more, a shock to all who knew her. A radiant soul, a golden heart, a wonderful person with whom I've spent many memorable hours. We laughed a lot, discussed the world, teased each other with sports scores between the Netherlands and Germany, and enjoyed delicious food with wine she always wanted to taste herself before approving it.

With the same 100% dedication, she cared for her assistants, students, and patients during the pulse trainings she provided, making her knowledge unforgettable. Shen-Hammer was made easy to learn as ABC, step by step, teaching how to feel the words patients spoke through their pulse. She understood it, embodied it, and passed it on to countless colleagues.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially by those she had forever in her heart. Dear dear darling, thank you for all the beauty. It was extraordinary.

The popularity of Abdominal Acupuncture has increased enormously, the last couple of years, both in China and in the West. After Professor Bo ZhiYun ended his research in 1991 and brought out the guidelines for treatment according to the Abdominal acupuncture technique, his method is even called a 'miracle therapy'. This is the sixth time that IL organizes this successful, extremely practical and by students highly valued 3-day course.

The use of Abdominal Acupuncture (AA) to treat illness, harmonize the Zang Fu, and strengthening the Yuan qi is based on ancient theories of Daoism, TCM, Ba Gua and the Five Elements.

This technique is based on the regularization of the navel (Ren-8 Shenque) as the central nucleus which is considered to be the first system of regulation, the basis of the meridian system and the distribution of qi and blood of the whole body forming a macroscopic control. The development of the umbilical regulation system is divided into two different systems: one is located in the superficial layer of the skin and is called the peripheral system (musculoskeletal) represented by the Sacred Turtle which includes the meridian system, the second system is located at a deeper layer of the abdomen and is called the visceral or Zang Fu system represented by the Ba gua map.

Treatment aims to adjust, harmonize and re-balance the body and mind. By concentrating acupuncture therapy in the abdominal and navel region, all parts of the body can be treated because the energetic flow of the whole body is focused in this area.

Abdominal Meridian System AMS

The navel forms the central point of the body, the head is located at the top at RN-12 and the spine ending at RN-3. The upper limbs bilaterally begin at ST-24 that corresponds to the shoulder. The lower limbs bilaterally begin at ST-26 that corresponds to the hip. We need only to stimulate specific acupoints on the abdomen, and this will in turn reflect upon the problem area, in many cases providing immediate relief to the patient.

Strengthening Yuan Qi

According to the Ba gua map and the location of points in the abdominal area, the points RN-12 and RN-10 correspond to the Fire Element and can tonify the Post Heaven Qi and the Spleen and Stomach. The points RN-6 and RN-4 correspond to the Water Element and can tonify Pre Heaven Qi and the Kidneys. By using this basic point combination we can help in several difficult and complicated health problems.

Needling Technique

Needling is done superficially and there is no "da qi" sensation making this treatment painless and acceptable by most patients.

Abdominal Acupuncture is becoming more popular in China and the West, due to its efficacy in treating chronic, long-term conditions such as musculoskeletal problems, neurological disorders, dizziness, insomnia, CFS, digestive disorders and others.

Theory on day 1 and 2, practice and patiënts on day 3.
