NOTE: The first weekend has been moved from 26-28 November 2021 to 10-12 December 2021

On this course you will learn

  • Advanced painless needling techniques to the face
  • 5-element constitutions and constitutional acupuncture
  • Facial expression analysis according to TCM and modern psychology
  • Cosmetic facial treatments
  • To recognize and dissolve emotional stagnation of the body and face
  • To bring back the shen and natural beauty to the face

The face is an open book

When you are suffering from deep emotional stagnation and negative outlooks, it shows! You just have to read the lines, shapes and colors that are mirroring the imbalances you are dealing with on a physical, emotional or spiritual level.

The same is true when you are in an open and harmonized state: you have a face that shows your personal inner harmony and natural beauty.

This course will provide you with facial diagnostic- and needling techniques to understand and treat the body's imbalances expressed in the face, working with the inner joy and outer beauty of your patient. The treatment programs you learn and practice during this course dissolve deep emotional stagnation and negative outlooks and opens and harmonizes on a physical, mental and spiritual level. This transformation process happens with a unique combination of facial and 5-element acupuncture.

Diagnosis, treatment and inner peace

Acupuncture to the face requires secure needling techniques and unique skills based on a solid theoretical base. On the course we work with both facial muscle motor points and classical acupuncture points to harmonize the face and dissolve emotional stagnations. With specific painless needling techniques and combinations of certain body and facial points the face returns to its natural beauty. The techniques make the face and shen radiate joy, youthfulness and inner peace and vitality by treating both external pathogens like cold, wind and heat and stress related emotions like sadness, anxiety, worry, grief and frustration, that all leave marks on the face.

A practical course with transforming results

To bring about a transformation from emotional stagnations to natural beauty from such a deep inner level, you need more than a superficial cosmetic acupuncture technique. It is a combination of the oldest techniques from the Yellow Emperor and 5-element beauty tradition to the latest Western scientific knowledge about acupuncture and facial muscles and skin renewal.

Intentional needling with knowledge of both TCM and more modern Western approaches of how facial muscles and skin tissue reacts, provides transforming results on a physical, mental and spiritual level. During the course you will experience these changes due to all the practical work. We take before and after photos of all participants, so you can document the changes that occur in your face as a result of the treatments you receive during the course.

Course material / workbook

The course material is thoroughly worked out graphically, for you to learn and easily apply in clinical practice. Facial anatomy, point localization and needling techniques are well defined for more than 15 facial muscles, and treatment protocols for each imbalance of the face is outlined in detail. Facial diagnosis relating to lines, emotions, facial expressions, colors and facial symmetry are all fully outlined along with use of facial masks and massage techniques described for each condition.

The course material is designed like a workbook. You can easily look up all the details, continuously improve your skills and apply these to patients in the clinic.

What do you gain from the course?

This course offers you, as an acupuncturist, unique treatment possibilities that can be applied and integrated in your regular practice immediately after completing the course.

You can work with facial cosmetic acupuncture on so many levels and also make it part of your own trait, or you may choose to integrate the potent needling techniques into your regular acupuncture treatments. Either way your patients will experience deep emotional transformation along with the joy and satisfaction of inner harmony and a beautiful face.

On a personal level, you learn about your own 5-element constitution, and what the lines, shapes and colors represent, and you can also apply treatment techniques to yourself and enjoy the transformation.

Facial and cosmetic acupuncture is also popular in the media and the public, so you might use your newly acquired skills as a business advantage to promote your clinic.

Content of the course

The course is divided into two parts, so you have time in your clinic and workspace to practice the techniques you learn in Part 1, and really feel safe and secure about needling the face, head and neck before continuing with Part 2.

To ensure optimal learning conditions two supervisors will be present when practicing needling techniques.

Content of part 1

Day one you learn more about facial muscle anatomy and skin tissue along with the theoretical background for diagnosing and application of treatments. We diagnose faces and look at facial symmetry and perform a simple treatment to open the face. You will be looking into your 5-element constitution

Day two we work practically with different aspects of the face like saggy cheeks, loss of smile, hanging eyelids, discolorations and jaw tension and issues related to the neck.

Day three focuses on facial lines, why we have them, and how we can treat them using needles, masks and specific massage techniques.

Content of part 2

We continue with the emotional issues like anxiety and how we can dissolve these on a deeper level and transform the face back to its natural beauty with facial and TCM acupuncture. Treatment examples are given.

On day five and six needle techniques to transform stagnated emotions introduced on day four will be practiced and all course material and training is summoned up, so you feel ready and enthusiastic about integrating facial and cosmetic acupuncture in your practice.

In the YouTube videos below, Nicholas explains that when Liver Qi is overused, as a consequence the Worry line starts to show in the face as a sign of determination, focus and strong will.
After the treatment, the Worry line is gone, and there is a relief of Liver Qi stagnation in the body.
